Traffic

I live and make music in a flat. We've got a lot of traffic noise. I have wanted to use that for a virtual album for quite some time. The album was born by a recording from midnight till seven in the morning.

The album consists of five tracks. The first four are made entirely from the 7-hours recording (all encoded at 256kbps). The last track is a live recording with additional instruments (encoded at 192kbps).

Monochrome

Monochrome is an album about sound. Each track is based on one sound source. The source is in the tracks name.

Why? Two things (three, actually):

1. It's rewarding to work within limitations. Especially when working with the endless possibilities of the computer.
2. For a musician it's a liberating process to "de-construct" instruments. (This obviously doesn't apply to the two non-instrument tracks). It's difficult though. Especially in the piano and electric guitar tracks the instruments traditional role peeks through.
3. It's fun!
